Steps:
1.A Step A: Synthesis of L-cysteine ethyl ester hydrochloride
L-cysteine (24.20 g, 0.20 mol) and 300 mL of ethanol were placed in a 500 mL eggplant-shaped flask. Thionyl chloride (22 mL, 0.30 mol) was slowly added dropwise under ice-water bath. After the completion of the dropwise addition, the reaction was continued for 3 hours at room temperature, and the reaction was heated under reflux for 12 h. The reaction solution was cooled to room temperature, and the solvent was evaporated to give a white powder (yield: 36.42 g).
