1.主要成分
薄荷腦（35%~60%），薄荷酮（約17%~21%），乙酸薄荷酯（約3%~9%）及異薄荷酮，薄荷喃呋，新薄荷腦，L-苧烯，胡椒薄荷酮等。
易揮發(fā)，易燃。
微溶于水，溶于乙醇，乙醚，氯仿和各種脂肪油中。
2.制法
由唇形科薄荷草本植物椒樣薄荷地上部分的全椒微干植物（水分不超過(guò)55%）或干葉經(jīng)水蒸汽蒸餾而得的為椒樣薄荷原油，再經(jīng)單離除去部分薄荷腦成分而成。得率為0.3%~1%（以干葉計(jì)，原油得率1.5%~2%）。
3.質(zhì)量標(biāo)準(zhǔn)
A.總酯量（以乙酸薄荷醇酯C12H22O2計(jì)） ：≥5.0%
B.總薄荷腦兩（以薄荷腦C10H2O計(jì)） ：≥50%
C.醇中溶解度 ：1ml可溶于3ml 70%乙醇
4.用途
食用香料。
主要用以配制水溶性薄荷香精（用量10%左右）及油溶性薄荷香精（用量可達(dá)38%），或直接加于清涼飲料，酒及膠姆糖，泡泡糖（用量可達(dá)0.6%）等中。
