429A-Preparation of 5-Fluoro-2-nitro-pyridine To concentrated H2SO4 at 0° C. was added 4 ml of 3% H2O2. To this solution at 0° C. was added 5-fluoro-2-amino-pyridine (250 mg, 2.23 mmol). The mixture was warmed to room temperature and stirred for 20 hr, then poured onto ice. The aqueous solution was extracted with EtOAc (3*30 ml). The combined organic layers were washed with water, brine and dried with Na2SO4. Removal of the solvent gave a light brown oil (245 mg, 77%). The product was used for next step without further purification.
