1.2 2. Preparation of Compound III
Compound II (52.0 g, 332 mmol) was dissolved in THF (300 ml). Lithium aluminumtetrahydride(25.2 g, 664 mmol) was added slowly in portions at room temperature. The reaction was stirred for 6 h. Sodium sulfate decahydrate was added to the reaction solution until the precipitation was complete. After filtration, the filtrate was concentrated to dryness to give compound III (41.0 g, 87%) as an oil.
