Thus, 3.1 g (0.07 mole) acetaldehyde, 0.3 g (0.004 mole) pyridine and 8.5 g (0.043 mole) trichloromethyl chloroformate are reacted together. The temperature is maintained for 2 hours between 20° and 25° C. after the chloroformate has been added. The NMR analysis of the reaction medium at this time indicates that the final productproduct has been formed with a yield of 96.3%.
