BactrialSortaseSubstrate III, Abz/DNP is an internally quenched fluorescent peptide substrate polypeptide with a sequence containing 6 amino acids and a pair of fluorescence quenching combinations. Staphylococcus aureus transpeptidase sorting enzyme A (SrtA) reacts with Bacterial Sortase Substrate III, Abz/DNP to cleave and catalyze the formation of amide bonds between the carboxyl group of threonine and the amino group of the cell wall cross-linking bridge. The cleavage of the substrate can be detected at Ex/Em=320 nm/420 nm.
