Beschreibung
This alkaloid occurs in various Veratrum species, particularly in V. eschscholtzii.
It has [α]
D + 9.2° (EtOH) and contains one primary and one secondary
hydroxyl group. The O-acetate has m.p. 219°C and the O,O-diacetate, m.p.
202°C. It is produced by the hydrolysis of isorubijervosine (q.v.).
