It is used as a basic raw material for protective polymers, which can be formed into so-called Parylene C polymers by the CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) method. This polymer is used as a moisture barrier and as an insulating barrier. It is also used in microelectronics, semiconductors, PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards), biosensors and heritage protection.
