Di-tert-butyl peroxyoxalate is useful for clean, low-temperature generation of t-butoxyl radicals; induces cyclization of alkenyl hydroperoxides; used in radical-trapping experiments, and as initiator for alkene autoxidation and ;polymerization.
Synthese
Di-tert-butyl peroxyoxalate is readily obtained by reaction of Oxalyl Chloride with t-butyl hydroperoxide and pyridine in anhydrous pentane.
