It is involved in the preparation of N-nosyl-alpha-amino acid for peptide synthesis. It is also used for stereoselective α-glucosylation of partially protected carbohydrates in association with silver tri-fluoromethanesulfonate, N,N-dimethylacetamide and triethylamine.
