TRI-N-AMYL CITRATE synthesis
- Product Name:TRI-N-AMYL CITRATE
- CAS Number:70289-34-8
- Molecular formula:C21H38O7
- Molecular Weight:402.52
Yield:70289-34-8 98.5%
Reaction Conditions:
with sulfonated microcrystalline cellulose at 135; for 5 h;
Steps:
2
The second step, MCC-SO3Esterification of citric acid with n-amyl alcohol catalyzed by H-4In an esterification reactor with a reflux separator, 1 mol of citric acid, 705 g of n-amyl alcohol (8 mol), and 7.05 g of MCC-SO3H-4 were added.The dehydration reaction was carried out under reflux at 135°C, and the water effluent rate decreased significantly after 5 hours. Then, sampling was performed every 0.5 hours to analyze the acidity of the reaction solution.The acidity of the reaction solution no longer decreased after 8 hours of reaction, and the esterification reaction was stopped.The reaction solution was filtered to isolate the catalyst.After washing with n-amyl alcohol and drying in vacuum, the weight of the recovered catalyst was 6.76 g, and the recovery rate was 95.9%.The gac of 0.5% of its material weight was added to the reaction solution filtered out above, and the n-amyl alcohol in the reaction solution was reclaimed in vacuum, and the residual pressure was filtered to obtain the product tripentyl citrate 396.0g, (yield 98.5%), color and luster 25 (Pt-Co colorimetry).
