Steps:
12.1 Step 1: Synthesis of 6-bromo-N2-methylpyrazine-2,3-diamine (12-b)
A solution of 3,5-dibromopyrazin-2-amine (12-a) (3 g, 11.96 mmol) in MeNH2/THF (2 M) (30 mL) was stirred in a sealed tube at 100 °C overnight. The mixture was concentrated and was purified (silica gel; eluting with ethyl acetate:Petroleum ether =1:2) to afford compound 12-b (1.96 g, 81%) as a white solid.1H NMR (400 MHz, Chloroform-d) d 7.46 (s, 1H), 4.49 (s, 1H), 3.03 (d, J = 3.9 Hz, 3H). LCMS Mass: 203 (M++H).
