Steps:
4.2.1. Synthesis of substituted chalcones (3a-3g, 3i-3l, 6a-6h, 6j-6k, and6m)
General procedure: First step was synthesis of substituted chalcones intermediates,which were synthesized by procedure mentioned in [121-123]. To brief,in ethanol (12 ml), NaOH (10%, 20 ml) solution, substituted acetophenones(1 and 5) (0.04 mol) and aldehydes (2a-2g, and 2i-2m) (0.04 mol)was added under ice bath and stirred until solid precipitated out(approximately 5-6 h) at RT. Precipitated solid was filtered and washedwith cold water followed by chilled ethanol. Crude obtained wasrecrystallized using ethanol to obtain appropriate chalcones (3a-3g, 3i-3l, 6a-6h, 6j-6k, and 6m).
