Insulin, human, from yeast, BT-243 is used in cell culture applications. It is employed as a drug to control insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Further, it is used to stimulate growth and proliferation of cultured cells as well as to investigate insulin activity on sensitive cells used in research studies.
