Removal and application of silicone oil
Mar 18,2022
Introduction
Silicone oils generally refer to linear polysiloxane products that remain liquid at room temperature[1]. Generally divided into two categories: methyl silicone oil and modified silicone oil. The most commonly used silicone oil, methyl silicone oil, is also known as ordinary silicone oil. Its organic groups are all methyl groups. Methyl silicone oil has good chemical stability, insulation, and good hydrophobicity. It is obtained by hydrolyzing dimethyldichlorosilane with water to obtain an initial polycondensation ring body. The ring body is cracked and rectified to obtain a low ring body. A mixture of different degrees of polymerization can be obtained by removing low boilers by distillation under reduced pressure.

How to clean and remove the oil stains of silicone oil?
Here, "silicon oil" cannot be regarded as a general "oil stain". The theory of silicone oil removal is "re-emulsification". Let's take a look at how to clean silicone oil, the method and the principle of cleaning. Of course, it's a silicone oil cleaner, already said. Mainly used in clean clothes, nitrile gloves, rubber gloves, FPC circuit boards, precision electronic components, etc., with good cleaning and anti-rust effects.
The silicone oil cleaning agent can be diluted 1:10-20 times with water, and the concentration of the solution should be increased for serious pollution. Heating the solution (60 to 80 degrees Celsius) or using an ultrasonic cleaning bath can greatly shorten the cleaning time. Immediately after the cleaning material is removed from the solution, it should be rinsed thoroughly. Do not leave the cleaning product for too long before rinsing. It is recommended to rinse three times with water to ensure complete removal of contamination and residual traces of cleaning solution. Dry items carefully after washing, using a lint-free cloth or hot air drying. The cleaning time is 15-30 minutes; it can be used by spraying when the temperature is higher than 50℃.
What is the principle of silicone oil cleaning agent?
Silicone Oil Cleaner A water-polyol-based mixture precisely synthesized from high-quality anionic and nonionic surfactants to produce a near-neutral concentrate (PH: 7+/-). Specially formulated to be highly effective and have the strongest cleaning, decontamination properties, fully rinseable, biodegradable, medium-duty cleaner. Does not contain phosphates, enzymes, ethylenediammonium acetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid (EDTA/TNA) or chlorine-containing bleaching agents, environmentally neutral and passed RoHS testing.
What other cleaning methods are available for silicone oil?
There are generally three cleaning methods for using silicone oil cleaning agent to clean silicone oil stains: ultrasonic cleaning, spray cleaning and immersion cleaning. The recommended method is to use super wave cleaning, and large workpieces can be sprayed.
Application
Silicone oil has the characteristics of low cost, good adhesion, non-toxic, odorless and tasteless, and is often used as a film-forming agent and emollient in cosmetics. It can be said that silicone oil is cheap and easy to use, and it is a very cost-effective ingredient. Therefore, more than 95% of shampoos on the market contain silicone oils. In the field of washing and hair care, the film-forming properties of silicone oil are usually used. Silicone oil forms a film on the surface of the hair fiber, which makes the hair soft, shiny, and has a certain protective effect on the hair. There is no quantitative research to prove that silicone oil is related to clogging pores, causing itchy scalp, causing acne, causing hair loss, etc., and it is also the basis for the relevant dosage. It is not popular science to talk about the disadvantages aside from the content, and the process from shampooing to rinsing is usually only 1-3 minutes, the contact time between silicone oil and hair is short, and it has been washed a lot, and there are not many silicone oil molecules left.
