Due to the lack of adequate research on its safety in these populations, Semax is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Neonatal administration of Semax has been shown to reduce anxiety and improve learning in adult rats. In addition, studies have shown that semax peptide at a dose of 50 μg/kg body weight can be used to treat epilepsy.
