This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 37.4 kDa. The protein migrates as 36-45 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

結締組織生長因子（CTGF），也稱為CCN2，是模塊化基質細胞蛋白CCN（CCN1-6）家族的成員。與其他CCN蛋白一樣，成熟的人CTGF由IGF結合蛋白結構域、vWF-C結構域、TSP-1結構域和半胱氨酸結肝素結合結構域組成。CTGF促進軟骨細胞的增殖和分化。在許多細胞類型中介導肝素和二價陽離子依賴性細胞粘附，包括成纖維細胞、肌成纖維細胞，內皮細胞和上皮細胞。增強成纖維細胞生長因子誘導的DNA合成。CCN2在體內的功能分析主要集中在其作為多種纖維化疾病中過量ECM合成的介質的關鍵作用上。
