Connexin mimetic peptide 40GAP27 corresponds to the GAP27 domain of the second extracellular loop of the dominant vascular junction protein (Cx40), known as 40Gap 27. Connexin mimetic peptide 40GAP27 is used to investigate the mechanism of communication through gap junctions in oxidative stress damage. After administration, 40Gap27 can weaken endothelial dependent subintimal smooth muscle hyperpolarization.
