AzGGK is a non natural amino acid and can also be identified as a small molecule peptide. AzGGK integrates into proteins in a site-specific manner through genetic code extension. AzGGK can be used as a site-specific probe for ubiquitination and SUMOylation. AzGGK is a click chemical reagent. It contains Azide groups and can undergo copper catalyzed azide alkyne cycloaddition reactions (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain promoted alkyne azide cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
