Caloxin 1B1 is a biologically active peptide with a sequence containing 15 amino acids. Caloxin 1b1 was obtained by screening for binding to the extracellular domain 1 of PMCA4. Caloxin 1b1 can selectively inhibit PMCA extracellular and has a higher affinity for PMCA4 than PMCA1. Since caloxin 1b1 has been selected to bind to the extracellular domain of PMCA, it can be directly added to cells and tissues to examine its effects on smooth muscle and endothelium.
