Margatoxin is an effective KV1.3 channel blocker peptide with a sequence of 39 amino acids and 3 pairs of disulfide bonds. Its IC50 is 36 pM, but it has no effect on calcium activated channels. Margatoxin can reduce VEGF induced transmembrane calcium influx and nitric oxide production in human endothelial cells.
