GsMTX4 is a 34 amino acid peptide based toxin isolated from the venom of the wolf spider, Grammostola rosea (Chilean rose), belonging to the huwentin-1 family. The sequence contains three pairs of disulfide bonds because GsMTX4 has a longer half life. GsMTX4 was studied as a pharmaceutical ingredient for the treatment of progressive pseudohypertrophic muscular dystrophy.
