Moxidectin
Moxidectin is a macrocyclic lactone anthelmintic drug used to control or prevent parasitic worms. Its principal use is veterinary, in animals ranging from cats and dogs to horses and cattle. Moxidectin-susceptible parasites include Strongylus vulgaris in horses and Ostertagia ostertagi in cattle. In 2018, moxidectin was approved by FDA for treating onchocerciasis (river-blindness) caused by the parasitic worm Onchocerca volvulus.?
