Valsartan is a specific angiotensin II (AT1) receptor antagonist, and another non-skin AT1 receptor antagonist used in clinic after losartan, which plays a key role in regulating systemic blood pressure and maintaining electrolyte and fluid balance. It selectively acts on the AT1 receptor subtype, blocking the binding of AngⅡ to the AT1 receptor (its specific antagonistic effect on the AT1 receptor is about 20000 times greater than that of the AT2 receptor), thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and the release of aldosterone, producing Chemicalbook and hypotensive effect, but does not inhibit the release of aldosterone induced by potassium ion (K+). The antihypertensive effect is better than enalapril, suitable for the treatment of antihypertensive, mild to moderate essential hypertension, especially for secondary hypertension caused by kidney damage, can significantly reduce the proteinuria in hypertensive patients with diabetes or normal kidney function, and promote the excretion of uric acid, sodium urine kidney protection. It is also suitable for reducing cardiovascular mortality in high-risk patients after a heart attack (left ventricular failure or left ventricular dysfunction).
