Hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride is a polycarboxylic acid type organic compound, which is resistant to high temperature and can chelate calcium, magnesium and iron in water. Good thermal stability, the use of PH range, wide water hardness, is an excellent scale inhibitor. Hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride (HPMA), as a green water treatment agent with low price and excellent performance, has become an important member of highly efficient water-soluble scale inhibitor and dispersant. Especially under the harsh environmental conditions such as high temperature, high pHChemicalbook value, high alkalinity and high hardness, the hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride has remarkable anti-scale effect on calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, etc., which is different from the general polyacrylic acid and other organic copolymerization dispersants. At the same time, hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride has low toxicity, no carcinogenic and teratogenic effects, and is commonly used as circulating cooling water, water treatment agent in low-pressure boiler furnace water and anti-scale treatment of oil field water injection and crude oil dehydration systems.
