Description：Gabapentin is structurally related to the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), but has no effect on GABA binding, uptake, or degradation. It is a GABA analog used to treat epilepsy and neuralgia.

Precautions: Elderly patients; patients with renal insufficiency should adjust the dose. Gabapentin may cause allergic reactions and angioedema in the first dose of treatment or at any time during treatment. Gabapentin can cause drowsiness and dizziness. For patients receiving antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) for any indication, antiepileptic drugs (including gabapentin) increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Gabapentin should be discontinued immediately if clinical symptoms of pancreatitis (persistent abdominal pain, nausea, repeated vomiting) occur.
