Barium chromate, named barium tetraoxochromate(VI) by the IUPAC, is a yellow sand like powder with the formula BaCrO4. It is a known oxidizing agent and produces a green flame when heated, a result of the barium ions.

Usage:It can not be used as a coloring pigment, because it contains chromate, so it has a similar effect to zinc chrome yellow in anti-rust paint. Barium potassium chromate can not be used as a coloring pigment, can only be used as an anti-rust pigment, can replace some zinc yellow.
