Nature:
1, 4-dibromobutane is an organic compound, a halogenated hydrocarbon, which can be obtained by the reaction of 1, 4-butanediol (or tetrahydrofuran) with HBr. It reacts with secondary amines to give Chemicalbook tertiary amines, which are further reacted to give Gemini quaternary ammonium salts. The property is stable and does not decompose at normal temperature and pressure. Avoid contact with oxides. It has local irritation and anesthetic effect in high concentration.
Storage and transportation method:
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire. Keep the container sealed and stored away from oxidants. Emergency spill treatment equipment and suitable containment materials should be available.
Production method:
Obtained from tetrahydrofuran by ring opening and bromination. Add hydrobromic acid to the reaction pot, add tetrahydrofuran and then sulfuric acid under stirring, and the temperature is controlled below 50℃. Then the temperature was raised to about 108℃ for reflux for 4h, and after the reaction was completed, the underlying liquid was stirred for another 1h, cooled and separated, washed to neutral with soda ash solution, dried with anhydrous calcium chloride, and filtered to obtain the finished product.
Chemicalbook is obtained by bromination of 1, 4-butanediol. Add hydrobromic acid to the reaction pot, stir to cool to 10℃, drop sulfuric acid. Add 1, 4-butanediol and stir for half an hour at a temperature of no more than 15 ° C. Heat at 100-110℃ for 6h. Cool to room temperature, separate the underlying liquid and wash with soda ash solution until neutral. Calcium chloride is dehydrated and filtered to obtain 1, 4-dibromobutane.
