acid and calcium hydroxide:
Ca(OH)2 +2HIO4→Ca(HIO4)2+H2O
The meta-salt is
formed when the acid is in excess and the ortho-salt
when the hydroxide is in excess. However, a detailed
study of these conditions upon the product produced
